Worthless Sack of Shit » Devlog
This was a student project for my Applied Principles: Game Tech course at SCAD. I'm happy with the current scope of the game mechanics and environment, but going forward I would like to make some changes for polish and to teach myself more about game development.
Planned additions include, in order of priority:
- Bug fixes and mechanics tweaks - Refine systems for object interaction, redesign logic for living room actors (books and chairs)
- Sounds - Doors, footsteps, item interactions, ambient sounds, etc.
- Level design - Enhance hallway (decoration, layout, and signposting), environmental effects outside windows
- Cutscene(s) - Improve camera movement in intro, redesign endings to better imply narrative
- Alternate control schemes - Add controller inputs
- Original assets - Almost all the 3D assets are from Quixel Megascans or the Edith Finch packs on the Unreal Marketplace. I would eventually like to replace them with my own models, but this would be extremely time consuming so it is not one of my priorities.
Thanks for reading!
